If you absolutely love Victorian architecture, then plan a day trip to Mt. Dora.

It is a quaint, well preserved 100 year old town in the central part of Florida and has wonderful boutiques, antique shops, art galleries and great scenic views of the lake.

Daytona Beach

If you love NASCAR, then drive over to Daytona for the day.

Daytona is also known for Daytona Bike Week.

It draws thousands of bikers from all over the U.S.

If you’re planning to spend some time at the beach in Daytona, you may also enjoy some shopping and a movie at Ocean Walk Shops and Theaters.

St. Augustine

Historically the oldest city in the country, St. Augustine was founded in 1565.

It has lovely old cobblestone streets, historic Spanish style churches.

You may enjoy a cruise on the Victory III to see historic landmarks and places of interest, and, if you would like to spend the night, spend some time at one of St.

Augustine’s beaches the next day.

Silver Springs State Park

Only a little over an hour from Orlando is Silver Springs State Park, famous for its glass bottom boat rides.

Visit the nature theme park, the petting zoo, botanical gardens, Cracker Village and the Silver River Museum.

The park also has pavilions, picnic areas and trails for hiking and biking, but the park is only open on weekends and holidays from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Kennedy Space Center

An hour south of Orlando is Kennedy Space Center, right across from Cocoa Beach.

A day trip to NASA’s space shuttle program will be interesting and educational for the whole family.

Legoland in Winter Haven, FL

Only 45 minutes from Orlando is Legoland, a fun place to take the kids.

This amusement park has Lego themed areas such as the Land of Adventure, Castle Hill, Miniland, Xtreme and Lego Tech Test Track.

  1. The LEGOLAND Florida amusement park located in Winter Haven, FL will be adding an official LEGOLAND Florida Hotel just as the one in California but with 5 floors and with 150 rooms in 2015.
