    I've had that experience in Malaysia too. I had to rescue my wife's shoe from the mouth of a storm drain after it was washed from her foot by the rain water rushing down the street! Hope it dries out for you soon!

    Gotta love monsoon season. We went through the same thing in India last year, except it was after monsoon season was supposed to be over, and everyone prepared for that. Vendors and touts had already gotten rid of all their umbrellas and ponchos, so there were a lot of people just out of luck and soaked, not that an umbrella can do much with rain like this.
