All really great tips, and if you can afford the time very practical too.
As far as high seasons and low seasons go it really depends where in the world you’re going. Low season for the beaches in Thailand is approximately May to the end of October. Then things start to get busy.

Hi there! Thanks for the tips, this was dated 2010 but I wonder if it’ll work this year. Well there’s only one way to find out. Getting the cheapest airfare is really the best thing in traveling. Thanks for these tips, it’s a great read!

Hi Nisha! We flew with Malaysian Airlines, it was one of their special deals.
If you book well in advance they let many of their flight tickets go for a very competitive price.

What price you pay for your ticket also depends on when you fly and when you book your flight (not just depending on season, but it varies a lot between what days in the week you book your flights, and what day of the week you fly).

I will be posting an article about when to fly to get the cheapest tickets in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned!

I just started following you guys. Great post! As a student I'm always looking for the best deals I can find. While it's hard traveling in the low seasons right now, I have booked really cheap flights with StudentUniverse.com in the past like when I went abroad to Barcelona. Thanks Jen! Checking out flights to places nearby can save you A LOT of money, so I really recommend that.
A few months ago we took the train from Switzerland to Italy and then flew from there to Sweden, instead of flying straight from Switzerland. That saved us at least 300 Euro..!
